Cheers

They started using sintered metals in new oil pump, that is not as strong as the older post 2002 gears, so we always find good condition used pumps give them a clean, check prv for play, unless planning on using it on a bogo engine, in that case forget the above?

im on a standard blacktop pump, stripped it and cleaned it, all was good so back together and handling my gt3071 well, no issues with pressure and better than a copy or ford replacement one.

Nothing that exciting, just started shiming the prv springs to up the pressure a wee bit, it's been working a treat, plus as you prob know polish the fuck out the plunger as they have a habit of jamming open.

Mines down to about 1 bar on idle when warm

Probs a weak prv spring, or sticky plunger

Is that fixable? It's just under 6 bar from start up

6BAR at cold isn't a problem, 1BAR on idle is an issue though.
2BAR idle is common on Zetec's at idle when warm.
