Volvo V70 2.4 D5 - A question
Are they good for high miles? I'm looking at one later, 52 plate, 175k, full history, worth looking at or walk away? Its a 2.4 D5 S.
Thanks
Thanks
Mines just clicked over to 280000 and still returns 46mpg in my s80. As long as they are maintained correctly my mate at Volvo reckons they are a half a million mile engine
52 plate means it'll be the 163bhp version which has less valve train issues as well

It's the older auto box in mine...
Solenoids can be problematic but as long as the fluid is changed when it should be then it should be ok. Mine has just started to get a bit funny if it's hot and I'm sat in traffic, changes a bit late etc. but as soon as it cools its fine again.
I'd advise the OP to check for an ATF change in the history if it's an auto
I'm no expert by I've listened to my mate waffle on enough
