Default 300mm brakes on frst (st170 or mondeo)

I'm thinking of putting bigger brakes on the front of my frst iv currently got st150's on their but iv got rid of the rear drums in favour of st170 rear hub setup an iv been told that having near enough the same size discs on the back isn't a good thing? Iv also been told that I can use mk3 mondeo front calipers with st170 discs or calipers an discs from the st170. I no with both I have to drill the hubs from 10 to 12mm but I don't no if I have to add washers or spacers to make them fit correctly? I would prefer to have them fitted without washers ect any help or advise on this

Thanks in advance
Chris

Yep you can use mondeo calipers or st170 calipers. You may have to use spacers dependant on the hub. I have done the conversion on my escort. If I remember correctly you need to fettle the calipers to get them under zetec s alloys or will need to run 16's See my post in RS turbo parts for all the parts you need.

Mondeo calipers. St170 discs. No spacers.

Awsome set up !!! But do t go eBay discs. Either get gen ford std discs. Or proper ebc or tarox ect.

why stop at 300mm discs, i have rota competition wheels and with a home made spacer and time machining callipers you can get FRS mk1 discs and callipers on, four pot brembo's with 324mm discs.
just food for thought, not sure how comps would fare though.

As above.
I've got evo8 calipers and 324 mm discs under 16"comps.

But for road the 300mm is great mate.
Consider ungrading to a mk5 rs2000 master cylinder or Mondeo mk3 one.

You gunna be pushing ALOT more fluid around now.
