Default Oil Breather

Had the car running a few times now and even had a bit of a shakedown run too

One thing that manifested itself fairly quickly was an oil leak. The return from the tank to the breather port in the block was chucking out oil at the block connection.

My question is: Why would so much oil need to return from the breather to the block?

I have attached a picture of the setup. Bottom left goes to bottom left of block (blank removed and adaptor fitted), top left goes to kidney box and top right goes to under the car (air).

Is this correct? How should a 3 port breather be plumbed in? I will be having a -10 welded on my new sump for the return but thats for the new engine - I will keep this as is for now.

I thought a breather was just that - I had to proper mop up where the hose join had been leaking. This was not just oil laden air, this is having oil flowing by the looks of it. Would it be caused by splash going up the hose?

My question is where does the excess pressure go?

should have a port to kidney box. one to rocker cover, return to sump, one to atmosphere.

Top right is to air - the plain black hose.
