Default Power Engineering 2.4 4x4 Orion Cosworth. PICTURES!!

I have just purchased my fathers Power Engineering Cosworth which was built in our own workshops in the early 90's. The car is a essentially a cosworth floor pan with an orion body. When we first approached power engineering they thought the car was going to be a bodged back street garage job, they could not get over just how factory like the vehicle was (Dave Powers words were infact, if ford built an orion cosworth this is exactly as it would be) and agreed to carry out the 2.4 conversion. The car was well known throughout the midlands in the mid 90's so im sure someone on here will remember the car. It has not turned a wheel in anger for atleast 2 years so is going to take some work. More cosmetic but a few essential things like brakes and suspension as well, AP brakes and a full leda coil over set up. I will post some pictures next week and will be back asking for advice as i am very new to the whole cosworth bug. Chayten

Yeah thats the baby, louvered vents in the wings and the bonnet. This will be the second time that the car has been saved, its come close to being broke a couple of times but it just wasn't ment to be I guess. I will get some pictures up the early part of next week, be warned though it is looking very sorry for it self at the moment!! Its black Mark, would be intrested if there is another orion cosworth about as i thought this was the only one

There will be plenty of pictures up next week and then a load more in the following weeks. It still has the 2.4 engine, it was advertised a few times but never sold. Chayten

Remember a Rosso / Radiant red Orion turbo in Fast Ford about 20 years ago, with a Saff boot spoiler... Loved it back then...

Is it the later shape Orion? I remember seeing a pic of an Orion with full Escort Cosworth front end with the appropriate skirts and rear bumper. Interior too I think. It looked factory. At the time I wanted one with Cossie running gear so bad.

Sorry about the delay but here are some pictures. Its been on the ramp over the weekend, fuel tank has been dropped and flushed and refitted with a new group N pump. The underneath is still solid with no nasty surprises which was a big relief due to the amount of time it has been standing.

It has a full escort cosworth floorpan, bulkhead and engine bay. When it was built the amount of effort in drilling out every single spot weld was amazing and was well worth it. Because we want to keep it in standard profile without flared arches there was alot of work involved in the front wings, bumper and boot floor. The wings are actually made up out of 2 pairs because the escort cosworth has a slightly longer wheelbase than a standard escort and the diffrence is all in the front arches, the bumper had to be modified for the same reason and the work is of such a high standard that you simply can not tell. I will post pictures tommorow of the modifed escort cosworth boot floor. Chayten

Thanks for putting the pictures on. After being on here a week or so it may not be considered a full sleeper but I don't think anyone would suspect 400bhp and a shade over 400ibft of torque . I don't have any build pictures but will post some pictures thoughout the resto. It is getting a whole load of tlc, screens and sunroof will be removed and doors will be stripped for a full respray, all of the above will be refitted with brand new genuine parts seals. The interior is having a full retrim inc. the door cards, under the bonnet the rocker cover is going black, black samco hose kit, alisport intercooler and radiator and a Ali header tank and there is the mechanical stuff like suspension and brakes as previously mentioned. I am after the same wheels but in 17inch, does anyone have any ideas where to go? Chayten
