Fuel gauge problem on Mk1.5
Hello as i mentioned in the title i have a Mk1.5 focus, Recently i have had a problem the fuel gauge needle is not where it should be , i filled my tank up in the hope it would sort itself out but the needle then went further than it would normally i would say about 50 degrees more, when i turn the ignition off the needle should go right to the bottom on its rester but it only went down to the middle, now that a couple days have past it has started to stay at the quarter tank mark.
Im assuming it is a a dash problem rather than the fuel sensor in the tank as it does move down as i use fuel.
Could somebody help me out by telling me whether i can fix this or if i need to buy a new speedo or anything else.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this

Thank you i will deffintly try that.
I am worried that if it is the sender then the fuel light wont come on. i have done a little bit of searching since i posted this and i have seen a couple similar problems other people have had and people have been saying its the fuel sender. But it would cost me anything to take the dials apart.
It is the last thing i expected to go wrong with the car but i have had it for 2 years and that is the only issue i have ever had so i cant complain lol
Cheers
