Default Blow out on way to Ford Fair......

Firstly thank you to Steve for a great day and the privilege of being on the stand.

A few of you may of seen a White sapph on the M40 on the hard shoulder with a shredded tyre, A bit of an eye opener whislt doing a modest speed and getting a blow out, was so lucky no cars were around and managed to get to side. Thanks for all the horns as you went by.

Had Avons ZZ1 and now changing to either Michelin Pilot 3s or Conti Sports. Any advice please.

Thanks again and great to meet some of the faces. Sorry won't let me upload any pics.

I have had Michelin Pilot's for some time now on my bmw 330d. primarily to start with as I can get them at costco! I have used continentals and yokahama's too. There performance is very good and I can not complain about there. Also I have had a big puncture on the front drivers tyre (exhaust hanger went through middle of tyre) I was doing about 100 Mph at the time, the tyre held together and I was able to safely get to the hard shoulder. - OK it screwed the tyre and rim was damaged too but minimal excitement. The BMW 330d weighs in at 1.75 tonnes so the tyre did well.

I have 18" rims and with a 20% off voucher got 4 for about Ł560.

I saw the tyre it was like the entire tread had been cut from the side wall, not only was he lucky to escape injury to himself or the car the RS7 escaped too, very very lucky

Haha, usual cossy temperament, thought I done much more damage than just the tyre. Result truthfully.

It's pretty scary when it happens, when it does you really do understand the meaning of having good boots, thanks for the info, I ordered some pilot 3 already, wish I tried Costco as we have one just down the road from me in watford.

I got four with delivery for Ł440, 205/40/17. Not so bad I guess.

Thanks for the head up mate.
