Hello everyone from Sydney, Australia
Hello there everyone. The name's Rob from Sydney Australia. I have a Ford Laser LXI 2002 model, had it for 4 years now.
Oil changed every 10k's and take good care of it. Have modified the sound system into the Sound quality SQ theme.
I use it as a daily driver doing over 40km per day so that is over 200 per week.
Its a 1.6 injected engine with 5spd manual transmission. The car has all the electric options as wll as engine immobilisor.
The stereo components was installed by myself, which includes, a Pioneer DEH-7050BT head unit, Boston RC620 splits up front in orignal locations. The tweeter is mounted in the sail area. They are powered by a Precision Power PC450 amp. I have installed a infinate baffle subwoofer. A single Kicker F15A on a mdf baffle board which is heavily braced. I have also installed a false floor which makes the car boot funtional as well as having access to the spare wheel. The Kickerr sub is being rung by a Precision power PCX2125 amp. rated at 250watts. The cars total power is 450watts rms but the wiring configuration is 900rms. Being a "boxless" sub, lot of work was done to apply sound deadening to the boot / trunk area, The rear speakers have been removed and the holes covered with 3mm mdf and gaffa tape. The holes were then covered with Dynamat on both the parcel shelf area. The boot has been deadened including the wheel well as well. The result is nice clean bass but not "loading " effect which is caused by the usually boxed subwoofer applications. Sure, my bass does not rattle teeth, but its nice and clean and no vibrations heard on the outside. The Pioneer bluetooth head unit was chosen due to its three RCA'S and use of mobile phone whilst driving.
I have put new tyres on it a year ago and maintain tyre pressure every two weeks.
I tried to load pictures up for you but I may try again later. Thanks for reading my post and all comments are welcome.
