Default Silvertop zetec head gasket?

Hi all, I'm currently in the process of building a 2.0 silvertop zetec with bike carbs and looking at head gasket options.

I don't fancy using the standard fibre type gasket, question is do the blacktop steel gaskets fit? Don't want to lower the compression ratio though which I assume focus Rs gaskets do?

the standard silvertop gasket is 1.8mm thick and yes the blacktop will fit and its only 0.6mm so will raise the compression

That's good to know, I don't need any other mods to fit them do I? Can I still use the standard ford head bolts?

straight fit and the head bolts are fine , both good for over 500hp.

St170 gasket is thicker than blacktop ones, iirc you can get them from ford for under Ł40

I'm running the standard Zetec Blacktop gasket in mine with no probs, seemed a bargain as it's MLS as standard....
