Caliper Rebuild Help.
Hello,
Hope your all having a good weekend!
Ive been cleaning the inside of the caliper but a little unsure of how clean it should be and should i use something to clean inside with?
Could i now put my seals in or not?
If not i have spray gunk, would that be ok on the inside?

Same goes for the carrier where the slider goes.

Not 100% but here's what im going for!

Many Thanks Eigdoog

you need to pop the pistons out too clean them properly. If thy are scored then they maybe no good.I did mine with wd40 and very fine sandpaper. One of my fronts ws sticking at this point though,4 pots 2wd.To get em out placea block of wood in the caliper and use an air line, dead easy.First time I did them my mate made a tool using a socket, pin and a nut that fitted in the piston and when you tightened it the socket expanded tus gripping the inside of the piston.

Use WD40, gunk, clean fluid with some wire wool. You are going to have to rinse it all out and ensure its perfectly clean after. Get some proper seal lube in there too on re assembly as brake fluid is actually quite dry - ok once used for the 1st time though.
The link you sent me was great thanks!
Ive got this

I hope thats ok.
Would it be wise to use gunk and 2500 grit sandpaper on the piston and the barrel inside?
I did try and use the guide in the fastford mag but its not in detail enough i find.

Thats just an anti squeal compound for the pad to piston contact area - just use copper slip.
This is more of an assembly grease: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hope-Hunte...item2a1edcdeba
