Hi all.
When I was driving my car, when pulling away from a junction I'd hear a clicking sort of noise, at first I thought it was my CV joints.
I've removed the whole drive shafts on both sides and checked the cv joints, I think there is a very tiny amount of play in them but they seem fine.
At the moment I am replacing the clutch and the gearbox is off at the moment, and I noticed the noise again when I turned the input shaft.

What is this noise?
Do I need a new gearbox?
Or will it last for a little while longer?

What motor is it in?

Mondeo's and other FWD do this when the diff is on it way out and the planetry gears are breaking up.

 

Sorry, its a mk4 fiesta, 1.25.
