Hi guys, 2 lads tried to pinch my RS tonight and not for the first time either!,
1st time was 2 years ago when they done the steering lock and i didnt lock it,
since i have fitted a clifford g5 and a disklok it seems the proximity sensors saved my car tonight, i heard the proximitys go off on my closed off driveway only to run out and see 2 lads with hoods up run off up the road!!!
It makes me think the cars being watched as its not viewable from the road!
lucky its summer and my fire escape from the flat was open so i could hear it!

My question is......i have a new clifford G5 fitted, but the proximity sensors are hard to set off, so they must of been trying! so does anyone know how to adjust them? or are they best left to a pro? many thanks,

Agreed but if a car blocks me in mine cant go anywhere as on one side is the flat, the other a large wall, my missis parks on the road blocking the gates, so im assuming they have been watching the car, clocked her car wasnt there, and gone in for the kill

No mate, im super warey, (never have my tunes up really, but if i do turn it down before i enter the road, first time they done the steering column so think they are after more

Heres my drive with my misses blocking me in, so u know what im on about:

 

Wheel clamp, removeable steering wheel, remove the ecu, security post, cctv camera, security lighting.

 

i had gates cut off (big heavy fukers too) my miss's car blocked gates 207,so they just smashed window and tried rolling her away from gates when that failed they just hotwired my rs to use to try to ram my st out of the way, they failed so ditched and ran, i was lucky, but they had balls fairplay, now i got 2x telescopic posts reinforced gauge steel on gates, cctv,discslock and new cat 1 with pad locked gates piss's me right off and i live in what i would call a good area if they wont it make sure you make it hard for the fukers!!!!!!!!!!!

 

At least they now know it got a alarm
May stop them from doing it again .
I would put a put two scaffold poles one either side concreted into ground then another one going over so it slots in and acts like a gate . More of a deterrent really . Put lights up aswell . The more you do to make it harder the better

 

pity you dont live closer as im off work soon for 2 weeks and would gladly sit in wait on that flat roof with my 6 iron for free supply of beer.

Thats sealed on three sides from your picture. Protect it with lasers and flood lights. Laser beams across the access point on the inside so as soon as they enter the property it triggers an alarm in the house. Flood lights on PIRs.

Also get a camera and stick the monitor by the TV or whereever you spend most your time so you look at it when the flood light comes on. Some wireless cameras have portable monitors so you can even stick it on the bedside cabinet to check in the night if you hear something.

If you are worried about them climbing then razor blades (stainless of course) on the inside top edge of the gate just poking proud of the top. They wont see them so wont expect them until its too late and they grip the gate to pull themselves up, then they will scream like little piggys as it slices into thier hands.

 

Was the gate open? If not they have either been watching you or got very lucky to stick their head over that fence

 

problem is any thief can view a website like this and see everything they need to know in great detail and the nicer the car the more of a target your car will be, just reading through someones posts for a while you can find out single or married has a dog or not if their neighbours are busy bodys etc etc you get the drift

 

More along the lines of the sensitivity of the prox, the alarm will have a couple of different boxes within the loom one for anti-jack, motion sensor and proximity all you have to do is find which is which and make it more sensitive they have white plastic adjusting screws on the side. Just turn it up a fraction, but be warned if you go over the top a gust of wind or cats will set it off all the time, been there done that. If it was mine removable steering wheel would be my port of call.

I think these dogs are also used for hunting big animals have a look on youtube for dogo argentino.

you could always rig up a small alarm on your gate , with a presure switch and a mondeo car horn to an old car battery hidden in the corner , my mate did this to his garage to stop people trying to brake in and pinch his dirt bikes it worked no one ever came back after the first attemped . . . it woke his street up at least 6 of his neighbours who all looked out the window to see them scarpering over his back fence

Also try the "Barrier Deadlock System" is about Ł229 this locks your car into reverse / neutral or park depending on what you ask for! they are welded into the chassis and nearly impossible to defeat! some police forces used to use them on their ARV's as they did not want them getting stolen! It is a tough unit that is mainly concealed under the vehicle floor. Easy to use, simply push in the gear lock to lock the car in reverse - release with a key. Meets Thatcham Category 3 criteria.

Our lass had her 206 stolen last year, took the front door off and came in for the key's, we didn't hear a thing and woke up to no car and no front door... only a 1.4 hdi aswell, police seemed to think it would have been broken for parts?? not seen since anyway! scum bastards

There is not much punishment for car thieves in the UK - or almost anywhere.

Too bad the UK didn't have Texas law - right to bear arms and the right to defend ones property (with a firearm).

As a result auto thefts (or any theft) from private property in Texas is quite low.

 

I do think the self defence laws especially in relation to property need relaxing a bit.

sure it might mean scum in the short term become more tooled up, but for some petty scum thieves it might be enough to put them off ie the juice isnt worth the squeeze.

I think it would work quite well for the teen burglars and joy riders. After all most of them are doing it for kicks and a bit of dollar. Getting thier head stoved in with a baseball bat probably doesnt come into thier mind. I imagine if one got a fucking good hiding when trying to rob someones stuff, then they might think its not so fun any more.....

Sure you will always have a select few who have no reservations about violence in committing their crimes and there will be some who react to being beaten with the "how dare that cunt stop me stealing his stuff" type attitude.
