can some 1 post a pic up for me for the radio wireing?? my s2 came with the ford eq and i can't wire up my headunit as the loom is pretty much non exsitent. or could u tell me which wires do what. cheers

 

To wire up your head unit you will need the following.

Perm 12v (red)
earth (brown or black)
switched 12v (yellow)

You should be able to locate the original stereo plug and this should have all 3 wires you need, if not then get in there with a multimeter and find them.

As far as the speaker wires go, pull all 8 wires up so you can reach them and then using a charged aaa type battery put one wire on the bottom of the battery and then try all the other wires in turn on the top of the battery until you here some white noise and you will have a matched pair, continue with the other 6 that are left until you have all 4 speaker wires matched and then hook them up to your speaker wires and you will be sorted.

hi robin, if i was you i would run a fresh cable to the battery for your positive live (the current one will be pretty resistive by now) and then undo the ignition barral cover bit and locate a switched live and run that to the red lead on the headunit. Then for your earthing point, if you take off the gear leave surround bit (the big plastic panel where i think your EQ will be sitting), there will be a bolt there you can undo and use as an earthing point and works VERY well...

bit of a long way but atleast you will know the power supply to the headunit will be solid

There should also be like a grey one which dims the headunit when the lights are on
