Default Stainless Goodridge hoses, problem fitting (pic)

I've gone to flare and form my brakes pipes on my Cosworth and the Goodridge hoses supplied done seem to fit

Am I doing something wrong here?

There not enough threads left for the Brake union. The nuts seem a bit thick, should they not be a shallow type?

Thanks!

If you take the washer off the top, does the fixed nut on the pipe sit in the mount/ hub?
Mine did on the rear.

loose the top washer.. The hexagonal part will fit into were the washer is covering it now. As far as I know there is also a some sort of hexagonal shape in the beam itself were it should fit in, at least at my car.
After that there is enough thread left!

Yeah it works on the bottom arm without washer on the top.

However, I have the same problem on the rest of the car. The longest hose that goes from the arm to the under body.

I've used thinner washers which does help but ultimately I need 'half nuts' and it'll be problem sorted.

Seriously P*****d off with Goodridge at this

Well Mike i have had 4 weeks of trying to sort suitable hoses for my saff with stainless ends. I have opened a can of worms. And even goodridge fucked up after making some on instruction from GGR. 12 ends 6 of which was zinc 6 stainless and the 2 caliper hoses too short.
How the hell they are tuv approved is beyond me.

I got mine sorted in the end

I binned everything that came with them and bought stainless washers and half nut's locally.

Burton didn't want to know, they said they would complain on my behalf as I am the only customer they have had that had bought full stainless lines with stainless fittings for a cossy. Burton offered me 20% discount on my next order which I took them up on after spending another £450 on Samco stuff.

tbh it wasn't worth the hassle of buying them, they cost me around £120. I'll be changing them again soon when I go AP's.

They're on now, however I never had an issue with length?

Well i am still waiting GGR have been great Darren and Graham Goode. Graham is annoyed at his suppliers hence why goodridge have been asked to make some up for me but they are wrong too lol. The initial set supplied by ggr had stainless ends but were machined to take both types of brake flare which didnt fit. So i will see what happens this coming week.
If no joy i will purchase a set of HEL lines in the hope they are correct.

But on another thread you said the ends are different?and asked what size pipe u needed. I have just ordered some hel lines and i have a horrible feeling they will be the same as the first lot from GGR. With the poxy double ended fittings. Which would then mean my new hard lines i have made and painted green will.be no fucking good.

The problem is always the nuts being too fat. Fitted loads over the years and most have had the wrong nuts supplied. We get all ours made locally now - Stainless fittings and crimped ends as IMO the screwed together fittings are crap.

Update.
Do not buy HEL lines as a direct replacement YOU will need to make new hard lines to suit the shitty ends which are fitted to theses hoses.
Theses hoses have a concave and convex ends BUT will not seal correctly with standard ford hardlines.

Fucking pissed right off.

Pic above shows hel line with there save money end and a goodridge on the right.

ford, in their wisdom, decided to make some fittings in the chassis specific for the hose pipes and some not

always worth taking the time to look at the ends to see which need longer/shorter threads and which have the captive stuff on the ends built in

as for the op, it might have been that he's put the wrong hose on as it you get the full kit it's got 6, 2 for the fronts and then 2 per side for the rears

So HEL lines are fitted but what a pain in the arse. Had to remake 6 hard lines with a single flare to ensure good sealing. As the standard hardlines have a double flare which is not big enough to seal.

Sorry Mike for hi jacking your thread but are fellow cossie owners need to know the truth.

Thanks
