Default PF Whats Going On?!?!?!

B4 i start im not starting an arguement. i wanna make that clear!!!! Be warned its alot to read, but hope u peeps do

Whats happening on PF at the moment with all the arguing, bitching, unfair comments, and bannings? Its gone a bit crazy and speaking to others i think they agree. Things get heated up on any website and in everyday life. But i think were all grown up on here enough to sort it out in a calm way instead of things getting silly.

i think its great that newbies are joining up everyday, shows, meets, piss ups loads of stuff. Its increasing the size of PF alot! and fair play to Petrucci & Stu you've got a shit hot website!

I've met many friends through PF loads of peeps including my girlfriend not only in this country but Holland, USA, Aus, etc. Thats how much of an impact this website has.

Im on here everyday looking and posting and chatting to others. My msn has nearly 100 contacts due to PF and i also set up 'Middlesex PF Group' with bob1972 and always telling peeps about this site.

But recently ive been seeing crappy stuff happen. im not taking sides or mention names cause im not arguing but ive seen things where people are send pm's with weird stuff/questions, sending pics to peeps partners male or female, hearing about racist comments, slaging offs, editing posts, a fair bit of shit
I see dodgy pics get put up in muppet room of a new member which kicked off the girls having a pop (girls im not moaning at ya, im just saying) which should of been moved or deleted pics b4 it got too bad. And a room which u can have a moan about having posts locked, changing, etc. I thought it was a room for peeps to ''drop there dummy' as it has a warning on it. it should be left alone or the room taken away.
Its also not good when members trying to sort stuff out are getting wound up to kick it all back off again. i think members should be given warnings, PM's not be biased on who there are, what they drive, etc and then if its seriously something dodgy then issue bans. I know its got a lot of members but when peeps get annoyed with it regardless of what has happened of why they dont/cant go on, it dont take much for them big numbers to drop. HOPE THINGS GET BACK TO BEST!

i cant think of anything else right now that was long

Rob, I fully understand what your saying 100% BUT.. im on my way to eat a 24oz fillet steak as we speak

If anyone wants to SERIOUSLY discuss PF policy and its future, then im happy to do it, so leave your questions here on this topic, but bear in mind a lot of it was covered last night and any queries about the dummy room, just read the sticky about it BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS as it seems 90% of members had the wrong idea about it, even though the topic describing its use is VERY clear.

https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=104806

See you all after a serious steak

I agree that there has been a bit of moodiness recently but it's still been mostly business as usual...I'm sure most of us are still on here for the happiness!

I agree, it needs sorting

Maybe harsher rules and moderation? There are so many members now, pf is massive, we should make the most of it Alot of people get wound up easily and we need to remember that it's the internet and we all have diffrent opinions and views on stuff, and take it all with a pinch of salt

So ive eaten my steak and done a 1/2 mile jog down the beach with the Dog to work it off... and i come back after all that time to ZERO questions and suggestions?

Unfortunately this is what ALWAYS happens when it comes down to folks helping us run PF. Plenty of time to moan and argue, no time to help....

Easy one that. The topic was over and there was no point continuing the arguments. One topic starter has left the forum and the other topic was about a banned member who decided never to come back...

Pointless conversations?

Surely alot of all this is about erm DARE I SAY IT self control.
Loook at the arguments arising then the next day an apology thread comes along.

Sure arguments happen. But maybe we should just take on the view.

Yes pal...
Well, to be fair i probably jogged 1/8 of a mile, walked 1/16th of a mile after that with what felt like failed lungs and was dragged the rest of the way home by the fooking dog!!

Not the greatest of sporting achievments but i get further every night and intend to be doing the whole 1 mile circuit twice a day by easter.

How do you propose people help? I'd like to help, as i'm sure theres loads of people do but its all down to a selection process to mod things like this.

Here's one.

I was washing the car after a trip to southend last night and thinking about all the stuff that went on while we were freezing on the seafront.

There's been a lot of talk about "freedom of speech", and I think the meaning has been twisted over time.

The way I see it (my opinion), is that freedom of speech means you are allowed to say what you want, for example, I should be allowed to criticise your work (not that I have any reason to) and not see my post deleted, or my user account banned, but an adult conversation should be allowed to take place - leading to agreement to agree or disagree (does that make sense ?).

That's what I see being the main difference between PF and others that shall remain nameless... we can talk about almost everything.

However, the impression I get, is that freedom of speech here is interpreted as anything goes, slagging off, being impolite, swearing and all . That I don't get at all, this is not freedom of speech, it's plain lack of respect for others.

So should the swear filters be enabled to keep the tone of posts at a level where common language is used, not offensive wording. The english language is rich enough for all to express themselves.

Remember: Our freedom stops where other's start.

We dont need moderators really, we need to see why folk are unhappy and address their issues or tell them why we cant address them

There is usually a reason for the way we do things that people havent considered.

Problem is, this topic started well, and died a death, suggesting pretty much everyone is ok...

Agreed

frog,

Also agreed!!

The problem, as i see it, is weve been quite slack in upholding my rules from the start, and whenever we do its seen as "Excessive Moderation" In Fact, i was accused last night of moderating PF with an, and i quote: "IRON FIST"

I mean..... do people not use other forums or something? This is the most easy going forum ive ever used.. bar none!! Asx i explained somewhere last night, we need to keep one step ahead due to its rate of growth, and one of my plans has been to make the "Dummy" room, to keep the nastiness that can come with relatively unmoderated forums all together and out of site of those who do not wish to read it. However, im now getting complaints about it being moderated and subject to rules....

The dummy room was always under my standard rulings and always shall be. We have a sticky in this room since its very conception stating its rules and a read me within teh room itself.. what more can i do to point out how it runs?

Seems to me its a case of folk not bothering their arses to read what takes me many many hours to write and just spend their time complaining instead.

what i miss

veryone on here deserves to get the hump as even though this is the net we are still fooking people with feelings and our own dessisions

sorry but as i seem to be the king of the dummy room it has to be said that we all get the hump, i dont keep things going, i prefer to hold grudges tbh, i aint spoken to my sister for gotta be 3 years , thats the way i prefer things when i aint happy tbh

so if someone talks to me the way i wont tlak to them or feel is a just replie that i personally wouldnt do i would speak via pm first unless they use the screen to bice it publicly then i will replie publicly

if i write a comment that was not ment with any malice ( like when spadge when through his mid-chav crisis ) he wrote a comment that i read and looked like he took offence to when i was joking and i instantly replied with a barage of pm's to sprt the situation out, when another memember that i offended dodnt wanna know i left it there , its called respecting there desisions tbh

i wrote a comment that less took wrong when he was a bit self consious ( ive been there too btw so i know how he felt tbh too) i wrote a replie and it was water off a ducks back to him

so move it to either a sinbin room that only they can access ( bit like PM option) and let em duke it out without others getting involved as that gets me the hump more tbh, ya se the fookers who like to have sly digs and they then give ya more the hump and then ya loose the point of the argument

bit like a nobody on here having a dig at the forum celebs. the "fans" get involved and talk shit as they think they have to defend the guys corner when they may have only said hello, nice car and read there cars spec opver a hundred times im fastford so claim hes then a "mate " of his

there ya go, my rant

make a sin bin option that just the ones involved get into , then after 5 days of no contact to the thread stik it in the real sin bin

I have to say that there's nothing particularly unusual going on here, that you don't see from time to time.

This is the most free and un-moderated forum that I've come across, and we all obviously feel "at home" sometimes, to vent our spleen at whoever pisses us off!

Put it down to "Mr Angry" going through a "Give up Smoking" phase in his life or Seasonally Adjusted Disorder (SAD). Shit happens.... That's life....

I'd rather see this than some super-sanitised politically-correct forum where nobody ever gets to really say what they mean
