hi guys , 2 wks ago i fitted a 2litre blacktop 2litre focus engine into my mk7 escort , i done the pin swap on the DESK ecu as stated on many threads which was all listing the same pins to swap,and now the temp gauge does not work ,can any1 help me and put some light on this issue

the mk5 and 6 escorts used 2 sensors, 1 for ECU and one for the gauge,
sure you've plugged it in?

one on top of thermostat housing, one on the side or back (cant quite remember now)

 

THANKS for the reply guys, the engine itself was originally fitted into a orion, so not sure whether any of the wires to the engine loom to the multi plug have been changed, the thermo stat housing was damaged so i fitted the escort 1 on which just had the plug socket on the top, but the broken 1 had a sender underneath too. but the escort doesnt have a wire 4 this

 

Iirc the escort uses the one at the bottom for the gauge.
Sender could also be at fault

 

Every thing was working fine until the ecu change ,
