Ford Focus T230 Super rare! GMD/Mountune constructed Ford Focus T230 (1 of only 8 made).

This car was designed as a prototype for the Focus RSmk1, and the T230 name was chosen to signify that they have Turbo charged engines producing 230bhp.

The car is a W Reg (2000) with very low genuine mileage, (approx. 15,900 miles)

The car is based on the 2.0L Zetec model and was designed and engineered in conjunction with Ford/Mountune/GMD/Gordon Spooner Racing as an early development for the RS where they were fully customized and fitted with the following spec:
17" Team Dynamic alloy wheels
Garret Turbocharger - T25
Front mount intercooler
Quaife LSD
Custom built exhaust system
GSE Sport Europe suspension
Pectel T2 fuel injection system and custom Mountune ECU

Since my ownership of the car I have had a brand new engine (off the crate from ford) fitted, and have matched all uprated components to T230 spec, and therefore the engine has only done approximately 1,500 miles. This was because when I obtained the car the previous owner had lost his license and the car had been in storage without regular running, which caused the engine to lose pressure.

At this time I also had a brand new matched turbo, clutch, flywheel, brake pads, brake discs and exhaust back box fitted.
Underseal was also applied to the underneath of the car where appropriate.
All works carried out by THWorks performance car specialists.

The T230 exhaust system originally came de-cat, but in order to achieve an easier MOT pass I’ve had a sports CAT and new lambda sensor fitted to ensure the accuracy of the emissions.

Other items: 5-speed manual gearbox, air conditioning, electric windows and mirrors, security system, power steering, air bags, ABS and traction control (switchable).

The MOT centre advised replacement of anti-roll bar link rod and suspension arm, which they fitted 12/04/2012.

Interior: Black Cobra bucket seats with matching rear seats. Seats have minor sun discolouration.

Exterior: The car has a WRC body kit with custom styling to meet original customer requests.

The car is declared as a 2.0L Zetec on the V5, and therefore it is up to the owner how they see fit to declare the car for insurance purposes. Other T series owners have recommended the following insurance companies for the T230 cars. I currently have specialist insurance that deals with it for me.
