Can anybody tell me if i put a 1.6 Engine and box into my 1.3 mk3 escort
will i have to put bigger shocks and springs in to take the weight?

If it is a 1.3 CVH to 1.6 CVH - No as the weights are similar. All the part numbers are the same for both models except the pre/post 1983 differences to the front shocks (which wont impact on your engine swap). You might want to consider whether you want to use a 1.6 'box though as final drive is higher geared in comparison to the one in the 1.3 'box.
