P0251 doesn't mean very much, have you cleared the code, and if so, does it come back?

There are loads of different things it could be - and to go replacing parts at random is pissing in the wind (believe me, I've been there!).

By far the best thing you can do is take it to a diesel specialist, preferably one that deals with Delphi. Don't take it to Ford ( they'll just take it to a diesel specialist and charge you for the privilege. If you don't get it diagnosed properly you'll pay more in the long run.

Egr valve is at the front driver side of the engine. There is a solid egr pipe that runs along the front of the engine and into the egr. Common fault. They only cost about £100 from jaguar, or over £200 from ford! Same part! Get the fault properly diagnosed first tho!

EGR wouldn't give you P0251 though - If it's a Euro3 EGR it won't give any fault code at all.

How are you reading the fault code? If it's a generic one it probably won't show up P1211 which will almost certainly be there too. Get it to a diesel specialist!
