Default Turbo heat shield socks

To try and eliminate any heat problems I was looking at heat wrapping some wires, wrapping down pipe etc, but I saw a few American ebayers selling these t3 turbo socks that wrap the entire turbo unit. What's peoples verdict on these?

I'm don't think that would happen on an Rs manifold as its cast and has no welds
