Default Fiesta MK5 Engine Tuning

Hello.

I'm looking for a Fiesta at the moment, but was wondering which engine to go for and was thinking about the Zetec SE engine, What parts are interchangable on the 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 engines. What bits can I fit from a 1.7 to the other engines?

Thanks,

Can't do fuck all with the 1.25.

The 1.4 and 1.6 heads are interchangeable.

1.6 can be tuned with really good results. 155 bhp with cams and head skim and a decent manifold.

The 1.4 can also make good power. Seen one running 170bhp on throttle boddies.

The 1.7 inlet can be fitted to the 1.4 and 1.6 and give slightly better throttle respond but no more power really.

I've got a puma lump in mine. Took 4 hours start to finish to take the old engine out, put the new one in and wire it up. Plenty nippy for a Dailey.

Cheers for the info mate There is a video on youtube of a 1.25 with a Puma Inlet? Is that a Factory Ford Inlet that you can fit to the 1.7? what sort of gains can you get from the 1.7? Cheers

You can fit the inlet to any thing but doesn't make a difference.

Puma lump will give 145 bhp with a manifold cams and remap. But more with a Racing puma inlet.

If you want to fit a lump and leave it then go for a puma lump and a manifold and be happy with 130 bhp. If you want more than that then Go for the 1.6 and get ss4 cams ect

Oh right, I thought you Could fit SS4 cams etc. to a puma lump because they are very similar, just the puma is 1.7 and 125bhp with VCT, can you not just fit all the bits from a 1.6 to the 1.7s?

No not really. You can get as cams for the puma. But ditching the VCt makes it Easyer. I chucked a puma in mine as I was happy with 130. I've got a I4 rs2000 lump I'll prob put in it next though
