Default Problem Cossie brake upgrade - (pic inside)

HI,

started the front brake upgrade on the Escort (4x4 Cossie calipers, 2wd discs) and
this is how it looks -->

How can I see if they are real Cossie calipers what I have bought, as they look a little
bit different than the one shown in the cossie brake upgrade thread.

cheers

I think you had to shave a little of the middle off as the calumets are for a 278 mm and not 283 so just a little but if meat needs trimming off

I had to modify my carriers slightly with a file inorder to gain adequate clearance.

let them run, the discs will soon rub away the little bit of the caliper carrier that they hit

done it loads of times and never any issues, the discs heat up and expand and even if you grind away th ebit that's hitting, when they get hot they will hit again and you will be going mad trying to figure out what's wrong

Fuck that !!
Do it properly and file the inside of the caliper. Or get the discs turnt down slightly on a lathe.

My brother has not long fitted cossie brakes to his s2 and he didnt have to do no filing they just bolted on, he had to use thin washers to move the carrier over a little thats all.

Had a look at the 2nd pair calipers and mine are original cossie brakes. Also the other
parts didn´t work on the car, so I started my Dremel and now they fit perfect.
