Bottom end gasket kit - white pvc ring? (pic added)

Hi,
finished the bottom end and don´t know where to put the white pvc ring?!?
The car is from 1986.

Have them never seen made from pvc, but why not...

lol I just rebuild a Cossie / Pinto bottom end wondered the same thing. Posted a picture on a Finnish Cossie club forum and got the same answer, sump plug washer. The simpler things are always the harder!
