If its a DOHC you could fit a escort RS2000 2.0 16v and even fit a 2.3 bottom end from a scorpio or a galaxy seen these engines turbo charged as well but its a lot of playing about! you could drop in a Granada cosworth 24v V6 a cheap option and you got 200bhp and they take a hammering all day long.

Find yourself a 2.3 granada scorpio as it has the 16v lump and all ready just to slip into a sierra

is it a car you care about and want to keep?

if it's just a run about, just scrap it and buy a mondeo for 300quid.

if youlove the car and really wanna keep it and make it nicer, cheapest ad best value engine to drop in would be the 24v BOA engine form the granada. should be less than 1k all in and give you 200bhp
