94 rs2000 4x4
i'll try to keep this as short as pos as im really losing my patience now!
put engine back in after a respray and wouldnt idle properly
cleaned iscv but still the same
spray carb cleaner round inectors, slight engine note change
took off the injector rail and changed the seals
injector rail back in and still rough idle
replacement iscv from jd went on and still rough idle
Chris (DIDCOTT) kindly brought down his 4x4 to compare and everything is as it should be
stripped down the inlet side, checked all the hoses/pipes, continuity checked the engine loom
cleaned all the sensor connections and put the inlet back on using gaskiseal and left over night
next day ran the engine and no differnce if not worse!
did compression test which first showed cyl 3 was low however did again and all were around the same
Chris (DIDCOTT) again was kind enough to lend me his airbox (known working iscv) but made no difference
yesterday a mechanic friend had a look and when unplugging the map sensor it ran better
replacement map sensor arrive this morning (cheers darren) but made no difference again
so at this point im really pi55ed off and start pulling pipes off
when i pulled off the pipe at the back driver side on inlet it picked up revs alas still slighly lumpy, same thing as when the map sensor pipe was taken off
now that pipe goes to the valve by the edis, and the other pipe from this valve went to the pulse system which i have blanked off as i took the pulse system off
now thats how it's left and it'll idle better (not entirely happy tho) and will rev and idle fine until under load when changing gear it nearly stalls!!!
am at at my wits end now as im stumped at what it can be
please any help would be much appreciated or it's either gonna be burnt or worse i'll put a zetec in it lol
