I had seen it there a few years back so had a bit of a chat with the owner. Its a 2.0litre vauxhall lump (xe maybe) with a stonking great turbo. Was running 20psi today and he's aiming for 30+psi next year

Last years Classic Ford day was also fkin hot so it's not always cold and wet there (just usually).
I noticed the huge difference in performance and thought it must be a different car copying the appearance of yours.
Was a great day with lots of stunning cars to drool over.

Frigging jet engine on it and it's still way slower than a top fuel.
Glad everyone enjoyed it - for the last two years running it's pissed down with rain about 2/3pm so good to have weather like that.
Kev Jenkins in the blue LET powered Mk1 Escort did fantastically well, when he ran the 9.5 on Saturday there were cheers in the stand as people had been waiting to see that car get a sub 10.
Terry - I wondered what had happened to your car! Who mapped it then? And it looked like a young-ish kid driving it - is that who owns it now?

Steve
Steve I thought the same, I thought it did a 9.0 it must be our old age

It was so quick!
lol at facebook, My Mrs took my wallet and went off with my son for a hour needless to say it was a lot lighter when they returned

it ran 9.5 @ 141mph on sat night ,sunday ran 9.6 ,9.6 , 9.7 not bad for 20psi on a gt40 but Gorden has mapped it to 30 psi for now ,but Kev the owner says with 20psi its getting a bit loose at the top end ,well with 7j rims lol whats to be expected ,so hes getting some widder rims and tyres then maybe give it the 30psi
