Has anyone seen those evo replicas that are actually a 1.6 fwd? I mot'd one the other year and can't think of their name. I thought it was a cyborg but that's the colt. They look like the evo 5
Theyre called Mivecs. They were available ina couple of shapes. they use the same engine as the Cyborg Colt, and there was a Colt Mivec as well, the Cyborg just had less weight (Manual windows, etc)
It's weird that I saw quite a few of those evo styled cars. No badges and I hadn't a clue what they were. Cheers for pointing it out. I'm emmigrating soon so nice to know what I'm seeing.

Theyre a common sight over here in Ireland. They're pokey enough as well. The engine is a 1.6 FWD Mivec, its a lot like vtec that there's a changeover at higher revs and then they really come alive.
Well it could be any lancer of that generation with the Evo 5 kit put on because it will fit.
There 1.6 engined lancer is known as the Mivec because of the system the engine uses, it would be the same as B16 civics being referred to as DOHC Vtecs.
The other models are a 1.3 Sohc FWD and the 1.8 Turbo 4WD GSR. Theres possibly a non mivec 1.6 as well but thats it
They do indeed.. and so do the Evo engines, even the EVO X still has the name on the engine, although im not sure if how the system operates has stayed the same
