What makes coilovers "creak" ?
After jacking the car up to clean the wheels yesterday, I noticed the rear coilovers creaking today, what causes this ?

Mine was caused by lack of use I think because as soon as I used it a bit more it cleared up. Although maybe the silicone I squirted all over them helped.

They do normally have the old issue of the spring rubbing on the inner arch on the rear end,
A big hammer sorts it out though.

Haha when I 'remodelled' mine for coilover fitting I started off hitting it so gently with a smallish hammer because it felt so horrible.
By the end I was calling it all sorts of names and clubbing it with the biggest b@stard hammer I could find
Does take a bit of effort!

Recalibrating?
So that's the technical term for 'bashing the shit out of'....? Lol

IIRC the saff had a 6mm build tolerance, so some may need a mod, some may not, some may rub, some may not fit well at all.
6mm is a lot

I like that term
I saw someone write on a warranty job card 'torque relaxation' - I asked what it meant, he said 'bolt was loose'
