Is this possible without a trip to a garage? Just replaced the coilpack which was the cause of the problem, but the light is still on.

 

no need a scanner to do it sum faults clear lights wenn fixed but still stored in ecu with no lights on buy a cheep obd reset tool on ebay

 

mine cleared after 5 mins of driving with a new coil pack in

 

Disconnecting the negative lead off the battery for half an hour will do it, or after so many engine start cyles it will go off, but the code will still be logged in the ECU and it might stay in limp mode.

 

Gonna disconnect battery today and see if that sorts it. Car is driving fine so dont think its in limp mode. Cheers for advice guys

 

The kas don't use limp mode,they just drive as normal. I've never got one to clear myself unless via the obd2 port by the passenger/drivers footwell.
Where are you based?if near Swansea I'm happy to reset it for you FOC.

 

Dupa alimentarea cu benzina am vrut sa resetez kilometrajul zilnic la zero ,fiind in mers si cu motorul pornit.dupa citeva minute aparatele de bord au luat-o razna,a disparut afisajul electronic al kilometrilor,acul vitezometrului s-a blocat la 30 km/ora,iar acul litrometrului a ramas blocat pe cantitatea din rezervor,situatia mentinindu-se si cu contactul luat si cu motorul in functiune si cu masina in functiune.toate sigurantele fuzibile sunt bune.ford ka,1,3 litri,60 cp,2004 ,motor benzina baa.
