Default Turbos. Water cooled or not? Which Is best

Just wondering if everyone has left there s2 water feed to the turbo?
I know the s1 is air cooled, just wondering if blanking the feed to the turbo would have any effect on the running temp/ water temp??
What's peoples views on this??

Reason I ask is my engine runs a bit hotter than I'd like sometimes, mainly in traffic.
I've got a 82 degree stat , twin fans, uprated fan switch etc

The Series 1 ran an Oil Cooled turbo, and the core was different to the series 2s water cooled turbo core. I wouldn't remove it personally, but many have with no problems... I don't think it would affect the in traffic temps much! Try it with a simple blank and see how it goes?

I had the same temp problem, got an afr gauge on mine and it was lean everywhere in the range, so richened it up (im on MS2) and its cured it... Even at idle after a bootful the fans cut in and out nicely now.

Fine to do IME, plenty of cooling from the oil so long as you let it idle before shutting off... Always ran like this!
