Default Rebuild / Replace CV Joints

Hi all.

Im suspecting I have some worn CV joints on my car, '97 mk4 fiesta, I had the odd quite clunk when accelerating from a stand still and today noticed when I took my foot off the accelerater, there was a slight clunk, I haven't been able to do that one again though.

Is there any way I can physically check my CV joints without removing the drive shafts?

If they are faulty, how hard is it to rebuild the drive shaft with new cv joints?
Or is it easier to just buy a whole drive shaft?0

Thanks, Jason.

Anyone?

Also noticed a clunk / knock as soon as I engage the clutch when pulling away, If I engage the clutch from a stand still and don't release the clutch enough to move at all, there is a knock, then again when i go to 2nd gear but nothing after that.

Bump.

Does anyone know if there is a way to test the joints without removing the drive shaft? Or what to listen out for when driving, or to do a manouver, I think I read about reversing in a circle or something, I can't quite remember.

Im looking at rebuilding the cv joints, but can only seem to find the outer joints?
