Cool at last. been waiting for this for 8yrs now...

some of you fancied an update..

update as of a few days ago is; i finally picked up a place TO do the 'conversion'. alas, now on the list as we speak is the removal of all un-needed parts off the capri and getting them sold. so sadly the Merc is still in the rain till ive done so. cant fit him in the shack too or ill have no bloody room! at least i know he will fit in lengthways regardless

and yes that is a delightful 2nd hand welcome message from the people beforehand cracks me up every time i open the door.

so, after i have got the capri stripped down to metal.. i reckon at that point ill be looking for a larger generator and certainly a proper gas bloody welder!.

will be looking for a gas axe and a tig welder at somepoint for the titanium members.. (i assume tig is good for titanium, ally etc) more essential is the axe though...

there is metal in there??

on a side note, a gas axe makes a big big mess and heat doesnt go well with metal tahts going to be stressed, you dont gas weld cars and theres no reason to have titanium parts on a capri

Is that 'fire exit' sign the most pointless sign in the history of signs or what!

Why are you gas axing anything? That' definitely not what you want to be doing if you're going to be reattatching the parts you've cut.

Epic thread. I can't wait to see how this goes!

Reminds me of the RhinoPower thread with the XR2.

That wasn't good by the way.

Take a poorly modded capri, cut it up.
Realise that whatever bodge you try to perform on the pieces won't work.

The best of luck with it.

Well if you get lost in the garage and in the event of a fire (possibly started with said gas axe) it will help you find your way out if you are a retarded twat .

Good luck with the build.

strangely enough that garage used to be, years ago for a guy who did up old jags n stuff, the next garage was his spray booth. so oddly enough me nor my mate who had it before i, put the sodding sign up! who cares, its a bloody sign! just like the small square of wood with the expanding foam lettering of 'twat' can too!

ill add my own poster or abusive text in 4foot high lettering later on.. :P

P.S. a gas axe or a fancy plasma cutter, will ONLY be for the large sections of awkward floor pans ill need shot of (i.e WONT BE WELDING BACK ON, EVER!).. not gonna go cutting the bloody wings off with one am?! as its messy and wastes what,1-3cm of metal? clown . it would just make removing the whole floor and bulks of the capri so much quicker and easier than my little disc cutter is all. oh and if by some magic i set fire to bare metal, ill simply, put it out with the fire extiguisher.

I don't think it is the writing on the wall that makes you laugh when you open the garage door.

I see you have not lost your super defensive attitude either.

Hopefully you will knock some sense into yourself before you waste countless hours and money on this

That was totally uncalled for, Dan was just trying to help as it is possible that there may be a few things you might not have been aware of.

Anyway, that aside, I wish you the best of progress and hopefully as things start to take shape and the fame increases maybe Stephen Hawking can give you a bit more time off from teaching him everything there is to know about the universe.

nothing wrong with graffiti... UNFORTUNATELY, it is not quite right should it refer to myself.. the word 'sadistic' is missing before the word 'twat', though im more of a 'bastard' really...

i should go over it...

good luck to you and just take each step carefully, don't take anything away you need to put back later due to error/change of plans.
