Default Zetec turbo oil pump help! with pics!

Hi,

In the process of building my zetec turbo engine.. Bought a 1.8 zetec engine just for the orig gen ford oil pump, after stripping it down an cleaning/inspecting it, i realised I dont kno what I'm looking for!! So dont kno if its any good or not?

Took some pics, so hopin someone with the kno how can let me kno? If its no good obviosly I dont want to use it!

some pics..

Any Ideas? Says in the Haynes Bible! any scoring replace? Now I can obviosly see some marks etc? Cant really tell if it means that, or what??

any help??

It looks lightly scored.... I personally would be replacing it with a new ford item and thats with out noticing the missing chunk, scoring on the back face will reduce oil pressure.

Some people have said that, a good 2nd hand one thats tried and tested (ie hasn't failed after a couple of hundred miles).... personally I would only ever buy new genuine pumps, the chances of finding a mint 2nd hand one are probably less than buying a good new ford one.

Either way, I wouldn't be using yours given the choice.
