As some of you know, I've been spending the last 5 years restoring my Mk5 RS2000 16v.
Here's a complete pictorial history of my restoration.

This is how she looked when I first got her.

First started stripping the Almera bumper, Mk6 rear end and WRC.

Picked up Mk5 Bodykit and trial fitted.

Garage was a bit full!

Trial fitted morettes.

How true this was!

Stripped everything ready for a good check for rust.

Rear light surrounds and aviation fuel cap sorted.

Battery tray done.

Moved garages, it's still full tho!

Floor damage repaired.

Sills replaced.

Trial fitted Hottuning manifold.

Powder coated brakes and engine bits.

Fully serviced and fitted bonnet raisers.

Doors de-locked, boot de-wipered, ready for paint.

In the paint booth.

Going Frozen white.

Back in the garage again.

Smoothed bumper lines, trial fit front splitter.

Fitted snap-off steering wheel boss to 4 spoke wheel.

Aniversary stickers fitted (+15bhp!)

Rocker cover changed.

Lol, Garage still full of crap!

Final application of waxoyl and underseal.

Another new home.

Gauges fitted and dash carbon wrapped.

MOT time!

Finished engine bay.

Got the bumpers and skirts back from the bodyshop, this is how it is now.
Not going to say finished, but maybe 98%.

Even took it to some shows at the weekend.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers everyone.
Got to admit, I was a bit worried about putting the first pictures onto Passionford!
The main reason it was saved was that we found out it was a very early Mk5 RS2000.
The build date is April 91 and we believe it was the 20th car built.
We've also been told the original reg was J194 WOO and probably means it was a 'press car'.
Cheers again for the comments, got the broadest smile on my face at the moment!

Cheers lads.
Alright Dan mate, yeah should have it on Thursday.
Depends if I can get the Morettes working properly, otherwise I might have to go home before it gets too dark!

Well if the wife wants the RS then she has opened the door on another top notch Resto.
Hey we don't make the rules we just follow them right ?
Stunning!
The morettes are a great finishing touch mate, just give the car that edge, looks proper hard now.
Great effort, nice to see someone making something of an under rated RS

If only they'd made the Escort Cosworth a bit later on, then maybe a few more people would remember these!

Doesn't sound like you're the only one mate. Shouldn't have mentioned the paint!

As said above, so much better than before. Reborn indeed.
