I got a call off a friend of mine who has a strange fault with his car.

Basically he was working away for 7 days so left the car parked up at his work, when he got back the battery was flat so they got a jump pack on it and although it runs the right hand turn signal is always on ?
He did say as soon as they powered the jump pack up he noticed the right hand turn indicator on the dash was on so is it likely something on that circuit has killed the battery ?

It's a bit of a weird fault and I said I'd ask about as I can't imagine it's going to be anything obvious if I looked at it.

Any advice would be appreciated

 

Will ask my mate who is a BMW tech, post back any info.

Daft question but do all the lights/headlights work?

On some BMWs if a headlight fails it lights up the relevant indicator.

 

yep,ive had that on an e46

 

Likely to be a bulb out or a bad connection, if a sidelight bulb goes out it reverts to use the indicator as a sidelight.

I'm sure this was brought up on here a few weeks back with the same issue.
Those clever Germans!!!

 

He has checked the lights and apparently they work fine. I'll ask him to double check that both the side lights and main beam are working
