Default Getting the Cossie vibes again.....

Think it must be the nice weather we're having up here but I'm getting a bit of a cossie vibe again. Don't get me wrong, I love my Evo, but it doesn't feel like it's going to kill me at any point. I think I miss that

Especially seeing some of the threads here, really hankering after a nice Saff. My brother reckons I should go for a newer hot hatch type car but that's just not me anymore.

My question is, am I stupid

The Evo is great, not wanting to slate it at all. I think all my Cossie and RST memiors are rose tinted though I don't seem to remember all the times they were broken

As above I have my jdm sub for dailys and 3 door for nice weather weekends, they aren't expensive as a second car, when I work mine out over a year it costs less than Ł10 a week to tax insure and service, as cheap as a takeaway curry when you think about it,

About 6.5k mate. I did get a good one, with FSH and only 60k. And it really does have a full history!! I reckon I could get a tidy Saff with that! I'm sure my gut feeling will pass

Buy it as a weekend toy... Im sure you'll appreciate both cars on their individual merits! When i step into my 1972 capri it feels great bumbling about but sure feel lucky to drive to work in a focus in the rain / snow...etc

Cheers for all the replies! Will sit on it for a while and see how I feel. Maybe an extra half a bar of boost will sort me out... Maybe I should buy an XR2 so I can break down and feel like I'm about to die, and keep my Evo for going fast

Sorry but i think your very wrong there. I had a 4x4 saff cossie and it was a very comfy car and never missed a beat in the 5 years i had it . Its now on ebay for sale again and im thinking about selling the audi a4 to get it back .

My 3 door is comfy ,abit harsh ride wise but then its 26 years old . The engines are not to much to tune, 5k gave me 360 bhp ,this is with a NEW t34 and everything was replaced, 5 years later all it needs is the half moon cam seals doing as they leak a little . All in the 3 door owe's me about 20k over the 8 years ive had it.

You loose more than that if you go get a new car
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-FORD-SIERRA-SAPPHIRE-COSWORTH-WHITE-/270952202753?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f16028201

Above is my old saff,it had bran new rs7's on it when i sold it. not a for sale add as its had 2 more owners since i had it , but if you wanted a VERY NICE clean saff this is the one, i got it form a 60 year old who had owned it for 10 years , he only sold it to me as he was having trouble getting in and out the recaro .

well considering mine is on coil overs and strut braces, and 18s you wouldnt tell it was on uprated suspension, the cossie rattled my teeth out on coilovers, was okish on konis

5k for 360bhp? did you have a rebuild? considering a std cossie engine can take that with uprated gasket, turbo, injectors chip and map sensor, most have exhaust and filters already

evo 360 is stage one with just filter exhaust and remp and will take abuse all day long, which i know full hand compared to my old cossies and this jap crap, cossie i go through a gearbox each month, evo not matter what i throw at it only thing gone wrong is a heater matrix lol

but im not defending the evo, there two different cars, i want another cossie but will be another escort again, i couldnt live with a sierra anymore, so ill stick with this evo, plus a stroker kit for 2.3 is very cheap compared to cossie stuff

Well in fact it was 5.5k, new T34 , 4 new pistons all new sensors new pumps ,new injectors, new clutch, bailey oil catch tank, level 6 ecu with gs chip and a FULL rebuild from gsmotosport .Evos have there floors, 1k new clutch, 1k for brakes all round..not really cheap is it

Oh plus my 3 door is Ł190 a year fc to insure, they wanted near on Ł900 for the evo .

In my white one, full throttle meant left. No matter what you did with the wheel

Had a flint 2wd circa 2002. Had it not broken down on a daily basis I may have even used it a bit more.

Since I joined PF in 2003 I've had mostly RS Turbo's, XR2's and some total and utter SHEDS.....
