Default 2wd Gearbox mount WTF!!!

Whats the deal with this - i want to powdercoat the mount casing but does the rubber mount come out and how?

Can you get new ones from Ford and how do the come and at what cost?

Any help asap as i need to sort it in the morning

The rubber mount is bonded into a steel casing, the steel casing sepperates from the aluminium mount which bolts to the G.box afaik.

I looked at that, did know as they bolts that hold that part in are more like a rivet - so do you know if Ford sell the separate as i don't really want to go for an uprated part

Just grind the rivets off and nut and bolt it back together after its been powder coated.

Pretty sure they are no longer available but you could buy just the rubber inner part a few years ago

No need it lives in a air chamber... And is washed and dry'd weekly.. In a heated garage... Wax oil is my worse nightmare.

used to be able to get that rubber mount on ebay for £15 i got one off there last year was loads listed brand new at the time dont know about now

Theirs this one but i don't think it's for a Cosworth gearbox crossmember as i'm sure thats a different mount - doesn't look the same as mine

You can get the rubber mount from any car factors. I picked a new one up from Andrew Page for about £15 I think.

Right i'll get on the case as this is shot - i have only seen mounts for lower spec boxes - they look the same in structure but not listed for T5
