hi all, straight to the point, are the suspension parts in the escort and sapphire cosworths interchangeable.
The reason i ask this is i would love to do a cosworth 4x4 conversion on something like a mk1 fiesta. Build it up to be a fast road, track, drag car thats stripped out, caged the work.
Iv been thinking about this the past week or so when i went to pick up parts for a tractor im restoring and spied a mk1 lying in a field. (and when i say lying i mean there was grass growing inside it.) after a long talk with the fella i found out it was bought 6 years ago with the intend of a full restoration, parked and never thought on again and was told if i wanted it i could take it with me. so i dug the thing out threw it on the trailer and now its sitting in my field.
now i could spend a year welding this thing and it would still have holes in it so this is when the cosworth conversion came to mind.
I will be the first to admit i dont know much about cosworths but after reading this forum for a lot of hours i think a sapphire floor pan would be the way to go. but after looking around the internet for parts most of the aftermarked bits seem to be for the escort, like the wrc rear craddle lol. so back to the question, would parts like this bolt onto the sapphire or would it need to be modified to fit

 

Pretty sure that all parts 4x4 are interchangeable

 

Brilliant just what I need to know. Time now to look for a sapphire, hopefully I find one that's be roofed and save myself a fortune.

 

the sierra 4x4 prop is longer than a escort cosworth one ,as i found out when doing my convertion
