Well here we have my Xr3i which was given to me by my dad... he cherished this car but age (he is 60 now) and keeping on top of it he gave it to me...

here she is owned by my dad since 1997

Now im not 100% sure which direction im going with this car but my mission at the minute is make it 100% like it left the factory..

comments and suggestions all welcome good or bad...

That is lovely and deserves to be treat with care and not modded. At least thats what i would do but it's your car so do what you will. Best of luck with it.

I have decided what to do with it finally...

will drive it and keep on with returning it back to 80spec and next year i will do a full shell rebuild... all ready for its 25th birthday in december 2013.

My dad has given me 2x new wings, sills and rear arches so will put them away untill then.

have come across 2 spot light brackets and foglights all genuine and all brand new too...

will give me time to find a new roof skin and a few other bits i need...

On another note my dad found out some standard black clocks for it with no flaking.... been stored for years apparently...

also removed all the chrome from under the bonnet battery cover, fusebox cover and brake res cover...(if anyone is interested they will be going up for sale..

changed the fuel cap back to a black one to ..

had a good look round it this morning and for a 23 year old car it aint bad atall.... couple of little scabs on the door and wing and thats about it....

started to stockpile the parts i need to get it A1 when i restore it next summer... been and spoke to an old friend of mine too this morning who i used to work with when i worked at porsche and he will be painting it for me...

come across some rear suspension arms too and a few other bits as well as a new fuel tank so they will be put up untill the restoration.

a good friend of mine has found a mint dash and nearly new rear 88 spec back seats that her had but in his loft for a rainy day....(and it was raining yesterday) lol so i have had them too....

my dad has also given me a brand new clutch and some brand new motorcraft pads he found ...lol

Nope, totally right!! 2.0 litre zetec running throttle bodies, healthy 170bhp and induction noise to die for.....

Looks a nice project, just bought a radiant series 2as a summer project myself

I'd be looking to get a standard petrol cap on it, Maybe lose the RS spoiler nd put the unpainted rubber one back on?

Are you keeping the RS Bonnet too?

Also bumper inserts should be red for XR.

Either way all looks good with the exception of the petrol cap(not a fan of the cheap black ones)

Looks real nice and original! I'd have to paint the rear drums black though they look cack in yellow imo.
