Hi I have an s2 turbo runing all standard boost running all standard s2 cooling system can I put a s1 turbo on or are that different eny advice will be great cheers bolts

S1 turbo is air cooled . S2 turbo is water cooled . S1 turbo will fit as its an t3.

Sound. So no performce difference the and do I just blank my water pipes up cheers bolts

yes. id use a non metal bung as its lighter and as a result puts less strain on the redundant hose. something nylon with a rib so the hose clamp has a good area to clamp. an alloy blank knocked up on a lathe would be ok though.

the s1 t3 is effectively oil cooled rather than the s2 having oil AND water cooling. the water coolant is heated by the turbo rather than the coolant cooling the turbo/engine. best bet imo is an oil cooler if temps are on the hot side of ideal.

Thanks for the info the car is running totally standard only mod I might fit is a turbo timer the car runs fine temp wise but it still as the s2 turbo on at moment but it's got loads of play in it so swapping it for the s1 with no play
