Default Engine transplant help

Guys Im currently stripping my series 2 ready for the body shop, now im thinking of putting the engine into my sport until the work is done on the s2.

I started taking the loom out and it looks as if it has to come complete as an entire loom, is this true??

Will i need to transfer the whole loom over or is there an easier way of getting it all running??

Yes the loom is attached to the main car loom. You could buy a loom from ebay and butcher it so it only has the engine management parts on it.

when i converted my 3i from a series 2 i just unplugged everything from the loom in the turbo and threaded it out of the car via the fuse box hole (thread it into the engine bay) took half an hour or so with a mate helping to feed it through but worked fine for us, same method fitting it back into the 3i. i wouldnt cut the loom about if you can avoid it mate.
also rewiring it isnt as hard as it looks, we just took time to label where each plug went and take photos etc. hope this helps
