I have had this with mine ever since I had the car, in my case I am sure it's the ISCV, I did try another Ebay job which stopped the hunting but it idled way to fast, it's to do with the incorrect spring rating and you have to sod about changing them around etc with the ones from the other valve.

In your case, I suggest you look toward your TPS, check the output!

Also is your base idle set correctly?

I assume it's the Escos in your siggy?

If you tried 2 valves and both where the same I guess the iscv is OK and some sensor is giving the iscv the wrong signals.

The official name is CONTROL valve, however some people like Stu from MSD etc prefer to call it compensation as that's what it's really doing, i.e. giving air compensation over the base idle in the Cosworth's case, whatever the name, IACV etc it's the same component to all intents and purposes.

To the OP now we know that, did you swap the loom/TPS? I suspect you haven't or you have the correct TPS, but haven't changed the loom or modified the existing one by inverting the two TPS wires.

Can you answer YES to BOTH the above questions? If not this will be your problem and the car won't run right period.

The fact when you unplug the ISCV and the revs ease show the valve to be doing it's job!
