Default gaz coil overs any one else called them direct??

i rang up gaz a few days ago to order a set of coil overs for my fiesta. due to my car and what i use it for i wanted the to spec them for my car a bit better rather than buying them "off the shelf"

after i had spoken with them i was left a little bit no convinced

i spoke to a woman who said i then had to speak to this other guy who dident feal me with confidence!!

told him about my car and what its used for had he said he could build me some to suet my car then handed the phone back to the lady who took my details and card details!

the last question i asked was when should i expect to get them and how much are they gonna cost....

she said £500+ postage and 3 weeks ok??

any one else ordered from them??

as long as you tell them your spec, e.g. tyres, power, use, they tend to get spring rates spot on, have had many kits sueted to our cars over years, whats your spring rates? did they say

I had a set made for my van at the rears told them what I wanted and they said to pop down so they could have a look and a quick measure up, don't think it took them long but was quite happy with how it all went

They should be able to tell you what spring rates they are going to use (can you not find out from anyone with a similar setup car what they are using as a guide?).
I had a set of gaz golds off them direct a few years back and they did do them at a good price with 2 sets of springs that i specified. Had a couple of issues that i had to return the shocks for and found the aftersales service to be 'ok' but took a while to come back.
Fairly cheap for what they are though so couldn't complain too much, iirc it was a chap called David Lyons that i spoke to regarding technical info as he used to work for leda or something along those lines.

I have got many set's off them and they are very nice, direct and no bullshit. I spoke to Brian at Autosport, typical old fashioned engineer, good bloke,

seen good and bad things, build quality not up to much compared to top end marques as koni, bilstein or ohlins/reiger but price reflects and you cannot go wrong for what they charge, as stated spring rates will be bang on and work perfectly!

Have delt with them a few times with no probs. if you want them on a definite date just ring them back and tell them and you'll get them or as said pop down to see them.

if it's just for the strip/drag then you'll be wanting around 400lb rears and 250lb fronts should stop it squatting but when i seen your car at pod at central it was your front geometry that was out the most causing you to have massive traction issues i've heard about it, looked like it needs a bit of looking into

Might be worth phoning him and asking him what spring rates he recommends for what you're asking just to see so you can compare with what others might be using, will be written or a sticker on the springs anyway though when they turn up to be fair!
I was wanting a track setup and had been told by someone who prepares race cars what to ask for, but he did say he thought the rates i asked for were a bit much so we decided i'd have a softer set that he recommended for the rear.
In all fairness he did seem to know what he was on about and springs are pretty cheap tbh so probably worth going with what he suggests and see how you get on, can always order more springs in the future
