hi guys been after a fiesta xr2 for a while now and then i found one and picked it up last friday heres sum pic's






only bad thing i seen when i bought it

so i had sum time to have a good old check today and striped the inside out and found this




so iv just ordered sum new inner and outter sills just waiting for them to cum back from ebay

bit off an updata had a tidy look at the drivers side inner sill and foot well and found this


and then i removed the rear quater panel and found more rot


passager side rear quater panel was soild and checked the boot well and it was soild

 

looks like you got your work cut out there mate but don't let it put you off.

just realised where them pics are taken lol, your a few streets down from me, i'm sure
dennis in the end garage will be able to help you with the welding.

 

as said looks like alot of graft needed there pal, but good luck with it!!

 

hi m8 yea bit off work to be done but im going to fit it how ever much it costs iv had a word with dennis he said he can sort it out just waiting for parts to cum back for him to sort it all out fingers crossed lol

yea seen ur car a tho times mite av seen my fiesta st (white escort gti alloys on it) on the main road on the bend by lidls its a bit off a mess at the momment but thats women for u lol

 

yea i've seen it mate, think you use to have my mates old black fiesta xr2i/rs1800 aswell.

 

would that be ur m8 that live up by spar bought a k reg xr2i 16v off a guy up by there few years back

 

bloody hell the tin worms got well in there mate - i love these things and if you rebuild it properly will be worth it in the future especially when its time to sell.

took the car to my local welder today said he can sort it all out no problem

told me to check the chasse to see if they are ok said if the chasse is rotten then there be no point saving it

so fingers crossed it be on the road very soon

 

Id be tempted to buy a mint 1.1 shell and build a sweet xr mate

 

I have got a 100% solid MK2 XR2 shell, which I would sell.
Its white, but needs painting. But it maybe a better starting point for you?
Transfer all your parts over from your car, onto my shell

i think your doing good reshelling it mate, save you a fortune in welding.

 

as soon as my old girl seen it she had it then i had it off her got to be the best car iv had id rather that xr2i then my st
after i got rid of the xr2i i was tempted to buy a blue xr2i in pentre a couple years bk as soon as a had the cash it was gone

yea cheaper for me to reshell it nd the shell im avin looks mint in the pics

that was 1 of my collection lol, the shell was mint with genuine 56k, i let it
go for £1200.

 

im temped to buy a xr2i again lol loved my old one that i had off ur m8 but miss says no coz iv got to many cars lol

 

bit off a updata picked my new shell up lastnite so time to start striping the black xr2 then build the new one up will upload pics later on

so today i striped the inside off the black xr2 ready to put in the new shell
so i put the boot,rear windows,sunroof and doors on the new shell so far




if the weather is fine tomorrow ill be takin the engine out off old shell ready for the new one

 

bit off a updata i finaly striped the rotten shell down to a bear shell and scraped it today
pic off how rotten the underneath was

on the truck on its way to the scrapys

so now the old shell is gone it was time to start on the new shell so i fitted the engnie today didnt take long

also iv fitted the steering colum and steering rack,pedals,loom,brackes
all iv got to do to finish she off is fit the rear axel and shocks and try and see if she will start fingers cross if the weather is nice again tomorrow she be on all four wheels
time to save for a full respray new

I recognise both of those, the black one was from Barry, and the white one i did all the fab work on about 5 years or more ago. Was 100% sloild when i finished it, pitty my never finished it, The wing have been re-replaced though as they were like the rears to except MCRally arches.
