Default Roller bearing turbo Q?

Are roller bearing turbo's meant to have a little play in the shaft?
I know normal ones t3 etc...arn't meant to have any but i was checking my turbo out yesterday and it has a little side to side play! Its an MD240R and is still under warranty until 05/05 so if its on its way out i had better get it sorted before then.
Cheers Spadge...

Both my MD240's had play in the shaft movement.

I checked this before using them and was worried and called the supplier
and they said it was perfectly normal for a roller jobbie..

iirc it called a floating roller bearing, if you check it ,it spins very easily when in the horizontal plane, and tighter at a couple of degrees off,
perfectly normal, don't forget to fit the oil feed restrictor! to much oil can damage these turbo's !

Mine brand new had a little play in the bearings thought it may go when it was filled with oil on engine but it was exactly the same and is the same 1000 miles later

I've got an MD240R and had it checked after about 800 miles.Seemed to have a bit of play so i let TD have a look at it.Came back with a clean bill of health.
