Default How much boost for T34? UPDATE!

How much boost can a T34 make at 6000rpm in fourth gear?

Mine is T34 with .55 exhaust housing, -34, msd chip with Siemens 55s and standard internals.

Also like to know for the T34.48 and T34.63

have a similar setup t34-55 with a NMS live map and was told by Karl at

high revs the turbo wouldn't run much over 23psi as it would overspin so

he mapped it to peak at 28psi and drop to 23psi turbo has lasted years

Thanks guys for the useful info.

@bigad4x4: Does your car with NMS mapping do 23PSI all the way through the revs even at 6000rpm in fourth gear?

all depends what gear your in at the time and what speed and what revs

it peaks at 28psi and by the time its at 6000-7200 rpm it will hold 23psi in

every gear as it should buddy, does yours drop off at high revs?

Yes, it does. Previous had a standard T3 with -34 actuator (act almost brandnew) and was peaking at 26 psi and holding 18psi.

Now bought a brandnew T34.55 turbo which peaks at 32psi but only helds 18 psi at 6000rpm in fourth.

Thinking maybe through the bigger exhaust housing it should need a bit more preload because off the extra build-up from exhaust gas pressure at high rpm but dont know for sure..

not sure im no expert but wouldnt have thought that would have made a difference as its peaking at 32psi maybe a weak actuator? Deffo worth a call to msd as its one of their chips they can advise you better on things to try

Hi Wim,

you sure you donnot have a leakage anywere had it with mine .

peaking very high but holding low , I turned the actuator complete in didnot even make a difference on holding boost only peak went up ... I would try to pressurize the system.

Update:

Like advised I did a pressure test at 2 Bar (32 PSI) today. And I have found a few minor air leaks.
