Default Fiesta 1.25 Zetec woes

Had this before, but got bored of the car so I ended up binning it.

Got another T plate Fiesta 1.25 Zetec today, and its got the same problem I had before, but this one is a little too pretty to be scrapping.

Basically, it won't rev past 4000rpm, its obviously in some kind of limp mode, but theres no engine management light on to notify a fault.

Replaced air flow meter and that altered nothing, disconnected catalytic converter, that did nothing, cleaned out the throttle body and there was no difference.

Revs cleanly and smoothly upto 4000rpm and then won't get past as if its hit the rev limiter early, so coilpack isn't suspect at the moment.

Its a T plate 1.25 Zetec Automatic, i'm sure this must be a common problem, any ideas anyone?
