Default 1990 Escort Bonus

So yet another project to arrive. I have 6 on the go now, what with the Polo VR6, Transit, 335d, 420GSiT, and the Defender.

She's rusty to the eye, but ill get her in and strip it down and see whats what!

The plan is to end up as a Zetec 1600i Rep like this:

so today we began the stripdown. It needs a lot of work but so be it. At least i know it should be sound after the work. So heres the day in pics:

My VR6 Polo Project

One neighbours OSF:

And my other neighbours:

So now its stripped bare its time to get the floor pans, sills, wings, front panel, inner arches, chassis rails etc etc then get it in for blasting, then welding, then painting!
Simple lol

Well its going to have to go on the Back burner for a bit. My Land Rover project needs some time spent on it. 3 years so far, and i really want some use out of it. So the Escort can stay in the dry till thats further on....

Unfortunately im known for that! It used to be one of two things. Finish them, then strip em pretty much straight away, or buy em then sell/scrap em lol
Ive always wanted a Mk3 Escort, so im hoping ill keep this one (albeit a mk4) alive. The Land Rover will never get sold, ever! And the Rover, although worthless so therefore not worth selling, has a sentimental link and will also be kept. The VR6 Polo is 90% done but needs to go. Ive not an ounce of enthusiasm for it anymore....

It went for scrap. Was far to rusty. Had a Welder round to look at it and he had nothing good to weld to so in the back of the van and off for scrap. BUT.........................

This got collected yesterday....

A H-reg Series 2 with new panels throughout! Just a couple of scabs on the roof left to do

Shame... They're getting more and more rare. At least you have an s2 shell. But most purist's would want to see it stay as an RS.
