Bit of a horrid situation, really hope you find the fault and get it sorted soon.
Part of Ford (Cosworth) ownership I guess.

make sure your igntion amps are properly connected

with my wasted spark i had to swap the leads over as it was firing in the wrong order

i think i had to swap 1-3 and 2 and 4 but carnt remember, its definitly wrong iring order, its down to what wire on the wasted spark loom goes to the ecu i think

Surely it has to be something to do with the WS as I presume it run ok before this?

The firing order theory seems as if it's worth a look at?

If the coil multi plug is facing towards you can basically divide the coil into two halfs through the center pin. The left side is plugs 1 and 4, the right side 2 and 3

Makes no odds as the coil fires both at the same time

What hasn't it got?

Take all the plugs out and lay them
Across the cam cover do they spark while cranking?

Are the plugs wet?

Have you tried to start it since the loud bang? If you have what did it do when it turned over? And was it when you tried to start it or when you went to turned ign on?

what he means is to swap 1 and 4 for 2 and 3 as it may be firing 180 out

if it makes no odds why did i have to swap mine over to get my car to run?

even though they both fire at the same time surely if its firing on the wrong stroke of the engine its still not going to run, so swapping the leads over isnt going to do no harm

Why do you think it's called wasted spark?

the coil pack is basically 2 coils in one unit. 1 and 4, 2 and 3 will fire at the same time, one plug will fire on the exhaust stroke every time.

the driver is wired correctly for the coil to be connected as matt has it, as it started and ran a car with the leads on this way.

if swapping the plug leads over across the coil solves the issue, the wiring loom must be incorrectly wired to the coil,, so the two outer pins on the coil loom would need swapping over.

yeah as its what was wrong with mine the wire was put in the wrong end

but as i said i couldnt remember which way to swap the leads but i swapped them and it fired up becuase it was 180 degress out when firing

so if 1-4 and 2-3 are the same if he swaps them over it will fire 180 degress out? if so the car will proberbly run, im only going on past experience with the wasted spark on my old cossies

if he swaps 1 with 4, and 2 with 3 it won't make any difference at all.

he would need to swap 1 with 2, and 4 with 3 to see if that cures the issue.

Or just leave the leads as they are, and swap the two outer wires on the coil pack plug.
