So insead of writting a stupid check for a daily car I swapped it for something more economical and fun and will use my funds on my toys.
Should bring my enthusiasum back.
I was a little like this and after test driving 3 BMW desiels and writting a check for a 530d I stopped, because even though they are pokey I fealt I needed to write a 2nd check for som pipe and slippers.

It's nice to have a quick car that's not only comfortable and reliable but also classy and cheap to run.

I have my ups and downs tbh.
Some days I'm really into my cossie, I'll go into the garage, crack on and make some progress and other days, cars are the last thing on my mind.
I'm really more interested in just driving them than building them nowadays, more to life than rusty, oily old motors!

I had a year or two out of the Ford Scene 3 years ago whilst I split with my ex and enjoyed nailing dirty tarts again!! Met another girl two years ago and Im settled with her....
Now I have my enthusiasm back but I just dont have the disposable income I used to have. I find it a constant battle to get my car back on the road and not having the spare cash to do it. Im having to get bits done monthly......
My deadline is Fordfair... But I can only hope.

this is it i like to use my cars not lock them away for 3 weeks of a month i didnt mind years ago but not now i see it as a waste and although the evo is easier to live with than cossie im getting bored of running it ! so now its time for a cheaper car to run but a nice drive lol

Sadly im finding the old race bikes do more for me now than the RS scene
I think its a massive change in the people rather than the cars, there are some strange attitudes these days

I gotta agree with Glenn.
Not everyone understands that for some people cars are hobby and no-one counts the money spent in hobbies. This is sometimes my case as I need to explain to people why I don't care about fuel consumption or prices of my car parts etc. I can't think of better investment for my money than cars that make me happy.

I used to be well into my clubbing years ago and spent shit loads on driving to clubs and dance events. Now i spend my money on my car.
It would be a boring world if we all drove new boring cars.
i see your point.since head gasket went on my fiesta ive been really lapse to get on and do it.its all stripped,i have the parts, just need the moral to get back on with it.im happy to go out in my merc for the time being.must kick myself up the arse as want fiesta at fitp.it needs head gasket and complete brake renewal with sump replacement too
Lost interest in mine about 3 years ago but didn't sell it, got into scoobies more than the cossie. Now getting some interest back actually did some work on it over the winter. So hopefully will have a better summer this year. A combination of little problems with the car, bad weather for most shows and spending on jap stuff just removed interest. Glad I kept it though.
After serving quite a lengthly holiday from the public roads... I was fairly convinced that I didn't need a powerful car in my life and that I would be happy with a reasonable daily, specially while I'm studying.
However, today I picked up a 2003 Impreza STi PPP for one of my mates and although it's only 305ps and by no means did I give it any real stress, in the 70-80 mile trip home I've unfortunately realised that the bug is still alive and well inside me.
Been trying to value my car accurately online with a view to possibly putting it up for sale.
Cheers,
Grant

Yea mate! Well fed up wiv it all. Got my cozy back on road last week ther for the summer, spun a fukin shell after 30mile. Has numerous problems with clutches last year with it ,and year b4 that it had a full engine build.......
Loving all of mine tbh, Mk1 FRS starts every time even though it gets rarely used, Mk2 FRS 500 is getting better all the time, new Milltek on, new Mountune suspension, new wheels, soon to be MR375, Mk1 Golf Gti cabby is a step back in time but so utterly cool. Daily drive Volvo V70 T5 is like driving a fast armchair.
If I was still pissing around with ERST's only I'd have given up by now, they are shite tbh.

Not driven mine much in the last few years, but more due to financial issues, plus got a company van, so its more of a toy now. Really miss driving it, the love for it is still there!
Just wish I had more money to spend on it!! Lol

Fed up chucking all my spare money at cars and not doing nothing else apart from messing with cars, i've since cut back and sorting out going out more and its better. Hopefully i'll get some interest back in the urq before I sell that or my audi s2 cabriolet.
